a sweet release

so those of you who know me know i'm sweating life pretty intensely right now. i mean, 100 degree sun, armpits-a-sweating nervous... but i digress.
my friend patricia of "a little hut" (i hate how i cannot turn words to links when i blog from gmail) described cutting paper as her release, and i'll admit it,
i didn't get it. so this morning, i grabbed some scissors, some blank paper, and i just started cutting shapes. it was like i was possessed.
and guess what? it felt GOOD. i guess it's better than cutting my arms/legs right?! not to be weird, but i can totally see why people with that disorder do what they do, they are just misdirected, they should be making ART. aaanyway, the little pieces all started fitting together, and iit became a paper bird,. i then went to ikea and got a 9.99 shadowbox type frame and made a background for the bird to sit over. for some reason i always remember annie lennox's song "litle bird" and grabbed some of her sweet lyrics to add to the background. VOILA. a new piece of art for lottie's bedroom.

"i look up to the little bird that glides across the sky, he sings the cleareset melody, it makes me want to cry."

go annie.

"I wish that I could be that bird
And fly away from here
I wish I had the wings to fly away from here"
